The Publisher’s Pour

Louisville, We Have a Story to Tell.

A Little Louisville. A Little Bourbon. A Whole Lot of Perspective.

This is where the publisher speaks for himself — not just about where to go in Louisville, but about the people who make this city special, and why their stories matter. New pours land here first; the full stories live in the edition.

Louisville, We Have a Story to Tell

Keys and Kentucky Bourbon — December 2026 Inaugural Edition cover

Louisville, we have a story to tell.

And it’s bigger than bourbon. Bigger than the Derby. Bigger than the skyline.

It’s a story about people.

It’s about the families who built communities, the entrepreneurs who opened doors when opportunities were limited, and the generations who helped shape this city into what it is today.

It’s about West Louisville—its history, its neighborhoods, its businesses, its culture, its resilience, and its undeniable contributions to the identity of our city.

It’s about the East End, South End, downtown, and every neighborhood where people are working, creating, investing, and building something meaningful.

It’s about the chefs bringing people together around a table. The bourbon makers preserving Kentucky traditions. The small-business owners taking chances on their dreams. The artists, educators, community leaders, and everyday residents whose stories deserve to be heard.

It’s about beautiful homes and historic streets. Neighborhoods experiencing change. Businesses creating opportunities. And the importance of remembering where we’ve been while deciding where we’re going.

That’s the Louisville I want Keys and Kentucky Bourbon to represent.

I’m Derrick Durand Dennis, Sr., Founder and Publisher of Keys and Kentucky Bourbon, Louisville’s new free digital lifestyle, legacy, and real estate magazine.

We’re creating a publication that celebrates the sophistication of Louisville without overlooking the neighborhoods and people who give this city its soul.

We’ll explore bourbon, fine dining, real estate, entrepreneurship, culture, community, and the experiences that make Louisville distinctive.

But our greatest commitment is to the people behind those stories.

Because Louisville isn’t just a destination. It’s a community. It’s a history. It’s a legacy still being written.

Our inaugural edition launches December 1, 2026, and every reader is invited to be part of this journey—free of charge.

The Men Who Show Up

On Tuesday nights in Newburg, the chessboards come out — and so does a standard for what a young man can become. Before the first edition lands, The Publisher’s Pour introduces Steve Shaw and Boys of Color Rise, his mentoring program for young men of color, ages 10 to 16. Their story is planned for the December 1, 2026 Inaugural Edition.
